What kind of scanner should I use for Digital ID?

The best type of scanner to use is a 2D scanner.
- Laser scanners cannot read barcodes that are being displayed from a phone, tablet, Chromebook or computer screen. A 2D scanner must be used. Upgrading your older laser scanners to 2D scanners will allow reading barcodes and the more modern QR codes from screens and printed ID cards.
2D scanners can be purchased starting less than $40 up to $250 depending on the configuration and durability you are looking for.
