When a “selfie” photo is rejected, does the id card stop working until it has been dealt with?

Depends on how the preferences are set

Gear > settings > data and images >

Option: “Photos must be approved for ID to be active”

If Yes, ID won’t work unless an approved image is present (and will not work if not)

If No, you can see ID with an unapproved or rejected image
